Bayern Munich chief issues transfer update that could impact Hector Bellerin’s Arsenal future

Hector Bellerin is ‘desperate’ to leave Arsenal before the summer transfer window deadline at the end of this month.

That’s according to a report on Monday morning from The Athletic, who say the 26-year-old has become ‘extremely frustrated’ with the Gunners ‘ reluctance to let him leave the club this summer.

Bellerin has been with Arsenal for over a decade but wants to bid farewell to north London in the coming weeks as he looks to embark on a new chapter in his footballing career.

There had been reports in recent days suggesting Bayern Munich hold an interest in the Spanish right-back and could use midfielder Corentin Tolisso as a makeweight in a deal with the Gunners.

Tolisso, who now has less than 12 months remaining on his contract with the Munich-based club, was used just 24 times for the German giants in all competitions last season and has been heavily linked with a move away.

Due to the Frenchman’s contractual situation, he is valued at just £18million on Transfermarkt, with Bayern perhaps open to selling him. The 27-year-old is able to negotiate with other clubs from January regarding a pre-contract agreement if his deal is not resolved before then.

However, Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has insisted that the midfielder remains a part of the Bundesliga champions’ plans going forward.

When asked if he isn’t part of Bayern’s plans by TZ, Salihamidzic simply said: “That’s not true.”

Tolisso himself reportedly came close to a move away from the Allianz Arena last summer and he spoke about the doubts he had over his future.

“It’s true that we were asking questions, especially in January when I hardly played at all. It was the transfer period, the Euro was supposed to be played in June, a lot of questions were in my head,” Tolisso told Canal Plus in September last year.

The transfer window is in full swing and things are beginning to ramp up with Edu and Mikel Arteta’s dealings at the Emirates.

“Afterwards, as I said, it was difficult at the beginning, I had this injury and after this injury, I had a discussion with the coach.

“As for the transfer period in June, July, August, September, I was not wondering, I knew I wanted to stay at this wonderful club.”

Arsenal are still looking to complete any late business in the final two weeks of the summer transfer window, as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his squad options in a hugely important season for the club and himself.
