There is no Gregg Wallace without John Torode and vice versa, just like how there isn’t an Ant without a Dec.
The two have been working side by side in the showbiz and catering industry for last 29 years which is no wonder they become friends overtime.
Although the pair often emphasise how their friendship isn’t very conventional – that has been mistaken for rumours that they don’t get on in the past.
“I think what he was trying to say was that we’re not friends in the typical sense,” Gregg once said, who strongly insists that they are in fact great pals.
“But it came out that we’re not friends, and that simply isn’t true.”
Like in any friendship, John and Gregg have had their ups and downs.
Once even during the filming for their show back in 2005 John was reported to storm out when they had gotten into an argument.
However, that wasn’t all there was to it as the pair turned up having had a drink or two too many – the two had a massive row after they bumped head over a contestant.
“Once, we had a bit too much to drink and filming got called off,” admitted John.

“We ended up having a massive fight about one of the contestants, and he got really stubborn – it was ridiculous.
“We’ve had a couple of standoffs over the years, about contestants, and I’ve just had to walk away from him.”
Despite all this, the pair are very close with John even being best man at Gregg’s fourth wedding to Ann-Marie Sterpini in August 2016.
Gregg was engaged to Anne in 2014 and the pair finally tied the knot shortly after in 2016 in a beautiful ceremony.
The couple have son together named Sid Massimo Wallace who they welcomed in May 2019.
Celebrity Masterchef continues Wednesday (September 15) at 9pm on BBC One.
