BBC EastEnders: Two absolute Albert Square legends were once married in real-life and you probably knew nothing about it

EastEnders fans from the 1990s are sure to remember the Raymonds.

The family consisted of Tiffany Mitchell (Martine McCutcheon), her brother Simon (Andrew Lynford) and their mother Louise.

Although Louise was never the doting mum her children deserved and found herself at the centre of multiple scandals for the year she lived in Walford.

She arrived in the square to sabotage the wedding of ex-husband Terry and Irene Hills leaving Tiffany and Simon stunned to see their mother after she abandoned them years before.

Louise then had a fling with local hunk Gianni di Marco before having a one-night stand with her daughter’s husband Grant Mitchell in a storyline that won a Bafta.

After Tiffany was killed in 1999 by Frank Butcher, Louise left Albert Square months later despite being a hurricane of character.

Lousie was played by actor Carol Harrison who has also appeared in a list of other TV shows and movies including Casualty, London’s Burning, A Touch of Frost, Human Traffic, The Bill – amongst others.

After her EastEnders stint, she studied a two-year MA in scriptwriting, avoiding the front of the camera.

She has gone on to write plays including All Or Nothing which toured the UK and hit the West End, reports The Mirror.

Away from the small screen Carol, 66, was once married to actor Jamie Foreman who played Derek Branning in the soap.

Although the stars are now divorced they do share one grown-up son named Alfie.

The actor played Max Branning’s dodgy brother Derek in EastEnders for two years from 2011 until 2012 when he was killed off on Christmas Day.

Derek collapsed and died in the middle of Albert Square after having a fatal heart attack.

But before his sudden death, Derek enjoyed an affair with Kat Slater, made enemies with Phil Mitchell, and would go out of his way to wind up Pat Butcher.

Shame Derek was killed off, to be honest, with the amount of drama he caused!

South Londoner Jamie is no stranger to the acting world with a career spanning decades.

The 63-year-old has appeared in TV shows and movies since the 1970s with roles in Layer Cake, Goodbye Charlie Bright, Rise of the Footsoldier, Nil By Mouth, Doctor Who, Inspector Morse, Birds of a Feather and so many more.

Jamie is now married to Julie Dennis and is also the father to sons Louis and Billy.

Carol Harrison also remarried in 2006.
