Family appears to be very important to Dion, and he has been open about how music has brought them all together when he was young.
“We all play music,” the former footballer said. “I play percussion. My mum, when she was alive, played the mandolin and we’ve got Clem who plays lead guitar, Eddie who plays drums, Ash, my eldest brother is a bass player and Carmen used to play the keyboards.
“I think if I’d taken up percussion earlier I might have gone for it, but I’ve been very fortunate to have played percussion on a couple of tracks with Ocean Colour Scene and Toploader. I still play more or less every day.”
Homes Under the Hammer is on BBC One today (Monday, November 15) at 11.15am.
