BBC Strictly Come Dancing: Fans stunned as Sara Davies looks worlds apart from Dragons’ Den

Bringing a bit of fire to the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom is Sara Davies MBE, who has caught the eye on the launch show this evening (Saturday, September 18).

Viewers will likely recognise her from much-loved BBC investment show Dragons’ Den.

But during the launch show of Strictly, fans were stunned at Sara’s new look, which is worlds apart from her more stern, professional appearance as one of the fearsome Dragons.

Sara fashioned new blonde, bouncy hair and a beautiful glittery dress.

Social media was awash with compliments for Sara’s new Strictly look.

“Sara looks incredible,” one person commented. “Sarah is looking so hot,” another said.

The launch show saw the contestants find out who their dance partners will be.

Sara was paired with strictly legend Aljaž Škorjanec – and fans were delighted.

“What a beautiful duo, my favourite couple so far,” someone said on Twitter.

When the dancing duo sat down with presenter Claudia Winkelman on tonight’s show, Sara revealed that she only said yes to doing Dragons’ Den so that she could eventually go on Strictly.

Sara said of her joining the show: “My mum and dad are going to be so excited. I’m really nervous because so far the producers keep asking me if I can dance. Truth be told – I haven’t got a clue!

“I’ve not danced since I did ballet lessons when I was little. The business world has taught me that tenacity, drive and determination deliver results, I hope that I can bring that to the dancefloor. And I’m excited to see the impact of all those hours of training on my mum tum!”

Sara was the youngest ever dragon on the panel of Dragons’ Den, when she joined in 2019 at the age of 35.

Sara, who hails from the north east, has received over 30 business awards and, in 2016, she was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to the economy.

Her net worth is estimated to be put at £37 million.
