Love It Or List It is a much loved property show on Channel 4 – ordinarily fronted by the charismatic duo Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer.
Frustrated homeowners struggle to decide between keeping or selling their homes in oddly addictive and compulsive viewing.
However, today (September 10) will see two new faces taking on the reigns to host the show.
Scarlette Douglas and her brother Stuart are joining the show as part of Channel 4’s Black To Front initiative, designed to showcase Black talent in the TV biz.
Many people will have already heard of Scarlette – she’s often on A Place In The Sun, helping Brits find their dream homes in sunnier climes abroad.
Her brother Stuart, 41, used to be a professional footballer, and is now an owner of a successful property development, interior design and renovation business.
Love It Or List It’s official Twitter account recently put out a statement highlighting the change: “RTRP [Raise The Roof Productions] is delighted to be involved in #BlackToFront this Friday, part of Channel 4’s ongoing commitment to improve Black representation on and off screen.”
The one-off special episode will see property experts and siblings Scarlette and Stuart heading to Ipswich to help a family of living a family living in a four bed semi-detached home.
Channel 4’s Black to Front programming day began at 6am this morning on Friday September 10 with special features across it shows such as Come Dine With Me, Countdown, Googlebox, Big Breakfast and many more.
The broadcaster’s aim is to showcase black talent on screen reflecting the diverse audiences and communities in the UK.
“We are doing this as part of our remit to represent and champion under-represented audiences and communities,” Channel 4 said in an official statement.
