Chef Albert Roux leaves son Michel nothing in his will but wife gets third of £650k estate

Michel Roux Jr, famous for his appearances on the BBC cooking show MasterChef, has according to sources been left out of his father’s will.

The 61-year-old French star’s father, Albert Roux, tragically died due to battling a long-term illness in January of this year and appears to have written off his son in his will but has given his wife Maria Rodrigues some share of his fortune reports the Mirror.

It is said that his wife will inherit all his personal items, except for two specific pairs of cufflinks, as these will go to his nephew, Alain Roux and his stepson, Joshua Rodrigues instead.

The pair will also receive £15,000 from the sum of money he has left behind.

Albert’s death came nine months after that of his brother, aged 78, due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

In his personal life, he wed his late wife Maria in 2018 having previously been married to Cheryl Smith for 10 years who he met at an international Wine and Food Society dinner.

He has only one son, Michel, who shares the same catering passion as him and runs his family’s successful owned restaurant business, Le Gavroche, in Mayfair.

Albert opened up his business with his brother in London in the 60’s with only £3,000, borrowing the rest of the funds.
