Gogglebox star Paige Deville has revealed that she was not asked to attend the National Television Awards by bosses, as they made the decsion to opt for the ‘more popular’ duo of Pete and Sophie Sandiford from Blackpool.
The night of celebration saw the Channel 4 show won the gong for best Factual Entertainment Programme at the televised bash for the seventh year in a row last week.
Brother and sister duo Pete and Sophie Sandiford had viewers in hysterics with their acceptance speech during the bash.
But one of the stars who wasn’t there was Birmingham’s Paige Deville who said she hadn’t been invited to the glitzy bash, Birmingham Live reports.
She told BirminghamLive: “I wasn’t asked to go the National Television Awards.
“It is the more popular ones who are asked such as Pete and Sophie and the Malones.
“People will say it is just sour grapes but when you give a lot of your time to a show like I did for Gogglebox it is hurtful not to be asked to be part of the celebrations.
“But that’s just the way it is.”
Paige was a regular on the show, along with her mum Sally, but last Friday revealed she had left the show.

In recent years, the Channel 4 series Gogglebox has cemented its position as one of the most-watched shows on British television.
The driving force behind the show’s popularity has been its wide range of topics and its long-running cast of family members.
However, unforeseen circumstances have meant that the latest season of Gogglebox which is set to return tonight (September 17) will not feature many of the show’s most beloved faces, Birmingham Live reported.
Fans were sad to hear that three beloved families have confirmed that they will not be returning to the show for now.
The announcements come in the aftermaths of the deaths of stars Pete McGarry, Andy Michael and Mary Cook.
As the new series prepares to air, here are all the families that have previously been botted off the hit Channel 4 show for breaking the rules.
