House fire sends one man to a hospital with critical injuries



Omaha firefighters were called to a house fire near 85th and Cass streets around 4:30 Sunday morning. Firefighters on the scene said the house was fully engulfed and is destroyed. Smoke could be seen from miles away. Investigators said only one man lived in the home at the time. He was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. Around 5:30 a.m. crews told KETV Newswatch 7 they were still trying to turn off the gas to the home but the flames made it too dangerous. The investigation is still ongoing.
