TV gardener Alan Titchmarsh is a much-loved character on our screens.
Alan, 72, is known for his work on the likes of Gardeners’ World, Ground Force and Love Your Garden.
With a long and established career under his belt, it’s perhaps unsurprising that Alan has established a large and dedicated fan base over the years.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror in 2014, Alan gave away some unbelievable details about the lengths some of his fans will go to show their love for him.
“I once had a bra sent to me but I think it was for Charlie Dimmock,” the TV gardener joked.
“I get fan mail and ladies come up to give me a kiss – all harmless stuff.”
Alan described that he thinks the attention he receives from his female fans is partly down to the fact that he is “unthreatening”.
“It’s rather bemusing and flattering really. I had five or six ladies who turned up to every Alan Titchmarsh Show that I did in eight years – that’s 752 shows.”
But Alan’s fans will have to join the queue – the 72-year-old has been happily married to wife Alison for an impressive 46 years.
The Love Your Garden host met his wife at an amateur dramatics group, and they tied the knot in 1975.

The couple went on to have two children, Polly and Camilla, and now live in a Georgian farmhouse in Hampshire .
Alan has often described Alison as his “best friend” and believes the key to a good marriage can be found in a nice cup of tea.
“I take Alison a cup of tea in bed every morning and have for the past 45 years. That’s my job,” Alan said. “But she’s ironed all my shirts.
“That’s love for you.”
Love Your Garden is on ITV tonight at 8pm.
