Joel Dommett is certainly a rising star in TV having kicked off his career as host of Live in Chelsea before hosting the likes of Extra Camp and the Masked Dancer.
Tonight he’s been given the honour of hosting the National Television Awards, showing just how high his stock is.
But outside of his TV career Joel has a hilarious relationship with his wife Hannah Cooper, from how he met her to the ridiculous name he says he calls her.
Joel, 36, admits he hasn’t had much luck in love over the years, publishing a book in 2018 called It’s Not Me It’s Them: Confessions of a hopeless modern romantic.
The book detailed his romances with 40 different women before he met Hannah, 30.

At the end of the book he details how he proposed to her.
But winding back just a few years to 2016 and the story of how the two first met is a hilarious one.
Shortly after he’d appeared on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here she slid into his insta DMs with a drunk text of…. a cat emoji.
It’s not quite Romeo and Juliet but such is modern love, and it wasn’t long before the two were dating, first seen in public together in 2017.
They went on to marry in 2019 in a dreamy ceremony in Mykonos, Greece, which Love Island narrator Iain Stirling officiated.
Joel told OK! in 2020: “It was honestly so fun.
“I was fully prepared to say it was the best day of my life and pretend it was – because I’ve been lucky enough to do Bake Off and I’ve had these amazing experiences in my life – but it was genuinely the best day of my life!”
Opening up about married life this year he also told The Sun: “It’s worked out all right, really. I’m very lucky.
“A lot of people call their wives ‘babe’ or ‘chick’. I go for Sexy Sexpot of Sex.
“But her nickname for me is just Joel. That’s as far as it goes.”
Not the most conventional nickname it has to be said.
You can catch Joel hosting the National Television Awards tonight (September 9) at 7.30pm on ITV.
