ITV The Real Night Stalker: Susanna Reid’s love life from dating rich soccer boss to relationship with journalist Dominic Cotton


Susanna Reid is best known for leading the country’s conversations on Good Morning Britain and taking viewers on a journey with her crime documentaries.

Tonight she’ll be delving into the horrific attacks of Delroy Grant – a serial rapist who haunted the elderly for 17 years – in ITV documentary The Real Manhunt: The Night Stalker. The doc is based on the hit ITV drama manhunt and she will speak to the real DCI Colin Sutton in the hour-long special.

Having had an extensive broadcasting career with the BBC as well as ITV, it’s fair to say the 50-year-old is enjoying a successful journalism career. However, there’s a lot more to Susanna than news, and her love life is certainly a testament to that.

In 1998, Susanna began a relationship with British journalist Dominic Cotton. However, the couple split in 2014 after 16 years together.

Although they never got married, Susanna and Dominic had three sons together- Sam, Finn and Jack – who are now teenagers.

When asked on Good Morning Britain why she never got married, Susanna simply said: “It was a personal choice.”

She also went on to argue that children born out of wedlock were not ‘illegitimate’.

“It’s a bit of an old fashioned idea that children are ‘illegitimate’ if you’re not married,” she said. “Children are legitimate, whether you’re married or not!”

Despite splitting, Susanna and Dominic remain good friends and even continued living together for a few years after.

She previously The Sun‘s Fabulous Magazine: “We still get on so well, Dom is still such a hands-on dad and we really co-parent.

“So we live separately but together and happily in the same house. I’m not saying everybody can do it and I definitely think people are surprised that we can do it this way.”


Dominic has since moved out of the house.

Susanna, who is a Crystal Palace supporter, revealed in 2018 that she was dating Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish.

Speaking about her relationship with Steve, Susanna previously sated: “It’s not a secret, but it’s private.

“I am very, very happy at the moment, but I don’t want to be married.”

However, the pair split in April 2019.

Despite confirming the 2019 split, Susanna and Steve have been spotted out together on numerous occasions, with Susanna even interviewing Steve on Good Morning Britain.

But neither have confirmed or denied anything.
