ITV Who Wants To Be A Millionaire: Vic Reeves’ first marriage to woman who left him twice before brief engagement to Silent Witness star

Vic Reeves is back on our screens again tonight, aiming to win thousands of pounds on ITV’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

The comedian, whose real name is Jim Moir, apparently takes charity quizzes rather seriously, so you won’t be seeing a lot of laughter from him as he battles it out for the £1m prize.

Although the comedian has had an incredibly successful career, his early love life and in particular his first marriage to Sarah Vincent, is known for being more turbulent.

In 1996, after three years of marriage and having had two children together, Sarah left Vic for the builder Keith Burke, who had been renovating the couple’s country mansion in Aldington, Kent, according to the BBC.

Sarah reportedly moved into Keith’s South London flat and blamed the split on Vic’s friendship with TV star Ulrika Jonsson for the marriage’s breakdown.

She is said to have told the Mirror at the time: ”Vic might make millions laugh on TV, but when he came home to me he was dull and boring. He was only interested in impressing and partying with his showbiz friends.

“He’s been swallowed up by Ulrika’s world. He thinks the world of her and they spend hours talking on the phone.”

Vic Reeves and Nancy Sorrell have been married for almost two decades

But, the saga didn’t end here. The pair had their third child in 1997. Then, two years later, Sarah reportedly left her husband again – this time, for her female personal trainer Julia Jones.

In another twist, Vic moved into Julia’s house with the duo, sleeping in the spare room, the BBC reported.

He later became engaged to actor Emilia Fox, who stars as Dr Nikki Alexander on BBC crime drama Silent Witness, but she reportedly called off their engagement the same year.

In keeping with his colourful personal life, the comedian is known for his surreal style of humour, becoming a TV hit during the late 1980s with the variety show Big Night Out.

His most popular show, Shooting Stars, was launched in 1993 and won a Bafta for best light entertainment programme in 1997.

He recently lashed out at the state of Saturday night television, claiming there was a lack of original ideas on British screens.

The star is now married to model, TV presenter and actor Nancy Sorrell. They tied the knot in January 2003 and had twin girls just over three years later.

Vic Reeves appears on ITV’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire tonight at 9pm.
