Nuno Espirito Santo’s second competitive Tottenham Hotspur starting XI looks very different to his first one.
The Spurs head coach confirmed to football.london the day before the game that he would be making 11 changes to his team as they take on Pacos de Ferreira on Thursday night.
All 11 players who started in the win against Manchester City have been given a rest, while Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko, Tanguy Ndombele and Serge Aurier have also been left to train at Hotspur Way, with the latter duo not named in the squad for the two Europa Conference League play-off legs.
Joe Rodon misses out with a thigh injury, but 17-year-old striker Dane Scarlett makes his first competitive start for the club.
New signings Cristian Romero, Bryan Gil and Pierliugi Gollini all start alongside Harry Winks, Ben Davies, Matt Doherty and Ryan Sessegnon, who made his return from injury with the U23s on Monday night.
Espirito Santo has lined them with a back three with Davies on the left of the centre-backs and Sessegnon as left wing-back.
A large group of academy players are also on the bench in Kallum Cesay, Maksim Paskotsi, Brooklyn Lyons-Foster, Nile John, Harvey White and J’Neil Bennett while Jack Clarke and Cameron Carter-Vickers are both with the group.
Here is the Tottenham team Espirito Santo has chosen to face Pacos de Ferreira:
(3-4-2-1) Gollini; Carter-Vickers, Romero, Davies; Doherty, Winks, John, Sessegnon; Lo Celso, Gil; Scarlett.
Subs: Austin, White, Clarke, Paskotsi, Cesay, Michael Craig, Matthew Craig, Lyons-Foster, Mundle, Bennett.
